Golf clubs can last forever if they are taken care of correctly, including replacing the grips. As a golf club is used it can lose its grip, which can affect the way a golfer holds the club. That can result in improper form and a weak swing.
Step 1
Place the club on a work bench and secure it in place with a vise. Slice the grip with a knife, going from the bottom to the top.
Step 2
Remove the grip from the club. Clean the grip area with cleaning solvent, then dry the club with a towel.
Items you will need
- New golf grips
- Sharp knife
- Double-sided tape
- Cleaning solvent
- Vise
Step 3
Tape the grip area with the double-sided tape and place a small amount of solvent over the tape. Make sure not to go farther than the club grip area.
Step 4
Place the new grip over the end of the club, covering the tape. Make sure the grip is even on the club.
Step 5
Remove the club from the vise and let the tape dry for three hours.
